I think its about a girl who was beaten, but still saw her silver lining in the world. I think its about how even though she was wronged she still loves and trusts with all her heart and still believes in goodness in the people of the world.

Fully alive means that you are living life to the fullest and love it, or not being afraid of death or anything. I love this song sooo much it is really touching or whtever!!!

To me it seems like it's about a girl who was murdered... The line about the cover creases sounds like its a front page story.

Hey guys. All your theory's are beautiful and touching, but, they're wrong. This is song is actually about a woman named layla palmer, the wife of the lead singer of the band trust company. She had/has a disease in which here bones break easily and she is often in pain. Lacey (flyleaf's lead singer) was touched by the way she always acts happy and smiles even though her life is miserable, and it changed her perspective on life. So, that's the story. But good try everyone else.
