i think its about how a guy is dating a girl that still isnt over the last guy she was dating and wont quit thinking about the past anytime he disappoints her. its an amazing song... ^^

First of all, this is my favorite song. Second, a friend and I both agree that we think the song is about his relationship with a girl. And they are starting to get kind of rocky. And she wishes that she had someone elses love.

I think this songs means that how in a relationship things go wrong. The girl is trying to move on and how the guy is desperately wanting her forgiveness

Basically, from what I can see, it means that he hurt her and that she shouldn't continue to live in the past, but she just can't forgive him that easily. He will wait for her (but i am still here)

Then he is questioning himself, why hasn't he moved on when clearly she won't forgive him anymore.

But, I think as the song transcends into the chorus, the guy is knows he is wrong and that he can't have her back. He knows this by saying (and now you wish you meant something to somebody else) meaning that she wished she gave her heart to somebody who wouldn't break her heart.

Now that I've listened to Escape The Fate more, I do like Craig better. He really did take the band in a different direction, and I think they needed that.

I agree with livlivliv18, and I'd like to add a bit to that idea:

I think he got in a fight with her over the they-should-be-together thing. And he brought up her ex that broke her heart, and it made her angry, and now he wants her to forgive him, because, well, he wants them to be together.
