The Guillotine lyrics

It looks like this song is from the revolutionary war, i mean they also used guillotines back then and the americans would hide from the british.

Well ive never played halo before so when i listen to it i feel its about two brothers or friends and the reason i say brothers is because the close relationship to the person he is singing this song to. Which i dont think he's singing this song directly to the person but in his head he feels this way. Im talking about the part when he say "the warmest place to lye my head,promise me you wont leave my side" but yeh i feel its about two brothers that may have gotten drafted into war because from my understanding i think they feel it is dangerous where they are at and uncomfortable and dont want to be there. I can vision this song actually happen. I can see them sleeping and when the sun comes up they fight the enemies together till the end and they have each others back. This song makes me cry sometimes because it reminds me of the death of one of my best friends.. My pet; his name was buddy. Sometimes i would feel as if he was the only me who understand me. So i would go to him when i was feeling bad. Ill never forget last christmas i came home to find him in my room dead. I cried for days. I knew he was going to die anyways because he was old but i wasnt ready for him to leave this earth so every night i would listen to this song and part where it said "the warmest place to lie my head" i thought about the times i would go to him for comfort and secureness. Then the part where it says "promise me you wont leave my side" reminds me of when two weeks before he died i would look over at him and see him struggling to stay alive so when he needed me i woud be there for him. He was so sick and nothing i could do. He couldnt even eat by him self so i would soak his food so it would be softer and i would place it in his mouth for him. I sayed by his side every minute and truly that was the most hardest time of my life. I would say to him "promise me buddy you wont leave my side i need you and dont want you to go. " i buried him underneath my window outside when he died. I made a casket out of my ipod clear case that you get when you buy an ipod touch. Still to this day i miss him. -rip budddy; u fought a good fight

It may be about halo, but it is pretty cool, i kind of used it for a world war two skit :p

sandpanda is right. Even in an interview etf said that the guillotine was based off halo 2 and the guillotine ii is based off halo 3. I'm sure what you said could be an alternate meaning but this really is about the video game halo.

But listen to the words covanant,spartans,lock out mercanires dude its really bout halo cause etf did a inter view sayig they loe halo and if you notice on all the halo games the intro to the guilotine 2(this war is ours) is playing of btw lock out is halos 2 3 and odst lol spartans are the soldiers covenant are the aliens and mercanires are well you know what a merc is

are you serious? Lol. This song is much more deep than halo;
it's clearly about struggle, and taking on the view of war and throwing in a bit of romance in it makes it seem like a struggle to maintain peace. Whether that's peace in general, or peace in a relationship. Don't be so ignorant.

Turferguson is the most correct. They already stated in an interview that this song was about halo. They wrote it when they were playing it. They give you so many hints: covenant (aleins in halo), lockout (map in halo), spartans (main character).

To me... I believe it is talking about war in general and hoping that the one they love will still be there when they return or if they return. It can be whatever a person makes of it, it is a personal preference. That's what's so great about music like this... It's for everyone cause it can hold different meanings.
