Disturbed – Enough lyrics

(We don't want them, we want everything)
(We've chosen to want everything)

We don't want them, we want everything
And we've stolen in this suffering
And we told them to want everything
But use caution in what you believe
And the haunted, deny everything
Controlling in this suffering
When they're broken, and lost everything
They're so much easier to lead

Take their hope away
Take their life away
Leave them nothing left inside

When your own have died
When there's no more pride
When your soul is frozen
Is that enough?
When your heart is broken
A thousand times
With every moment,
Is that enough?

(Without warning, we take everything)

Without warning, we take everything
Undaunted in this suffering
The dark forces surround everything
Make it impossible to see

Take their hope away
Take their life away
Leave them nothing left inside.

When your own have died,
When there's no more pride
When your soul is frozen
Is that enough?
When your heart is broken
A thousand times
With every moment,
Is that enough?

Haven't they suffered enough now, Haven't we suffered enough now
Haven't they suffered enough, the damage more than they can bear
Haven't they suffered enough now, Haven't we suffered enough now
Haven't they suffered enough, the damage more than they can bear

Do they even have a reason why
Countless sons and daughters have to die
Can you even comprehend the pain?
Tell me with your heart.

Tell me when your own have died,
When there's no more pride,
When your soul is frozen
It's that enough?
When your heart is broken
A thousand times
With every moment,
Is that enough?

When your own have died(own have died)
When there's no more pride(no more pride)
When your soul is frozen
Is that enough?(Is that enough?)
When your heart is broken
A thousand times (A thousand times)
With every moment,
Is that enough?

I'm pretty sure that this is about the Soviet Union after the events of WWII. Joseph Stalin was a horrible leader who's greed and lust for power led to the death of many, many people under his rule. Not only did they push past what was necessary in WWII to defeat the Nazis, the USSR tried to strong arm America and dominate the world - all while their own people starved. Stalin's lust for power did not stop at his death, though, and the echoes of his corruption stood until the ultimate collapse of the Soviet Union.

Even with the soul of Russia being "frozen" and many impoverished people crying out for freedom, the government didn't listen. The grip they had on the world faded and eventually slipped away. They could have saved the USSR if they had changed their ways, but they never had enough until th bitter end of the Communistic reign. Even the lines about denying accusations from the people, and blotting out the truth by making it "impossible to see".

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it's the most sensible meaning that I can come up with - I sure as hell haven't seen any better theories.

I believe its more then just the government against the people,.
Its society as a whole. Most often people just take and take, and have no consideration for those around them, hence the lyrics, "when your heart is broken, a thousand times, is that enough". To me, it speakse of someone who is at their breaking point, who has literally given everything, and all they ask is more, and they have nothing left to give.

Being both a big disturbed fan as well as a lyrics writer myself, I personally believe that it has several meanings, among which would, yes, be government/society taking and taking(although in my opinion its just part of a difficult-to-resist thing about being part of the plague that is most of the human race) but it also likely has to do with other things like some unknown tragedy or something deeply scarring (the reason I believe this is because I personally have to have some triggering of emotion to write something meaningful, but hey I'm no disturbed member, so I wouldn't exactly know) if this seems a bit much or something please let me know.
