It's not super complicated, or vague, it's about a girl waiting for a guy who is off his own dreams. The song is just a way to express his gratitude to the girl. Because like jack johnson said, "waitin on love ain't so easy to do. " it's also a really fun song to learn and sing as a cover.

This is a song about distance, and the pain it brings, and the love that makes it all worth it.

I think he's just portraying how blessed he is to have a woman in his life that stands by his side while he's off doing his own thing, perhaps with his music. And although it's hard for her... She's still there for him & like i said... Stands by his side & makes it work. I feel he's also in return letting her know how much he loves her and appreciated her standing by his side because he doesn't want to lose her since she's so different from most other females, who ask for expensive things when all she wants is him.

Or, perhaps it's clearly and plainly just about him and his relationship. Being he's a musician and he travels while his, now, wife (previously just a girlfriend) and he wants to let her know he loves her and appreciates everything shes sacrificed for him, mainly the nights spent apart while he travels and tours. It's not that he never loved her, or stopped, and realized he shouldn't have stopped loving her. It's about him letting her know he loves her with all his heart, and appreciates everything shes done for him, and how she doesn't ask for anything (not materialistic objects persay). She doesn't ask him to just stop and be with her, she lets him go every time he has to leave. If she were to cry while he is away and he finds out, it hurts him because the potential of the reason for her tears is be cause he's not there and she misses him dearly, or even she's sick of it and maybe is crying because shes sick of long distance relationships.

Well i think this song is about a guy that loves this girl and he has wronged her by his own feelings and dreams rather than giving her the attention she deserves and hes finally understanding what hes done and is trying to reconnect.

My boyfriend said he was going to play this song for me. Were going through such a horrible time right now, it hurts. The second time he showed me this song i asked him what the song was about and he said

I feel that its just about a guy who really likes this beautiful girl that is loved by a guy who obviously loves her because shes so simple so diffrent she doesnt ask for nothing she sacrafices so much and he wants to treat her like a queen and he feels like she should be with some one who she actually deserves. He cares deeply for her, he loves her--its a beautiful love song. I think its pretty straight forward.
