Children 18:3 – Who They Are lyrics

Jesus who are you talking to?
I don't want to get involved
I know it might be my duty but I don't feel called
I know everyone's beautiful and I try to understand
But I wish you would stop bothering me and hold someone else's hand

Do you know who they are in my eyes?
Can you see the shooting stars in my skies?

Jesus who are you talking to?
Do you know who she is?
Oh, of course we love them
But this is not how we live
I can try to be sorry if you tell me that I'm wrong
Of course I believe you when no one else is around

Do you know who they are in my eyes?
Can you see the shooting stars in my skies?

Like blackdahliax05 says, but hyprocrytical specifically by shunning people that one sees as despisable. (do you know who they are in my eyes?) I think the person referenced that jesus is talking to is the woman at the well. The woman was a samaritan. The jews despised samaritans, and men didn't generally talk to women. This is the example jesus set for us, but the christian who doesn't want to follow this example has an attitude that questions and challenges this example, like the narrator of this song. To speculate about the shooting stars, perhaps this means the person idolises the "stars" of life, this could be highly regarded people, or weath, but they don't have time or attention for others. Maybe it means that the narrator's life is comfortable and they don't want to be bothered with needy people.
