Shake me down
Not a lot of people left around
Who knows now
Softly laying on the ground, oooh
Not a lot of people left around, oooh
Ohhhh
In my life I've seen
People walking to the sea
Just to find memories
Plagued by constant misery
Their eyes cast down
Fixed upon the ground
Their eyes cast down
I'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun
Shake me down
Cut my hair on a silver cloud
Broken sound
Softly laying on the ground, ooooh
Not a lot of people left around, ooooh
Ooooh
In my past, bittersweet
There's no love between the sheets
Taste the blood, broken dreams
Lonely times indeed
With eyes cast down
Fixed upon the ground
Eyes cast down
I'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun
Turn back now it's time for me to let go
Way down had to find a place to lay low
Lampshade turned around into a light post
Walk around the corner
Never saw it coming still
I try to make a move
It almost stopped me from belief
I don't wanna know the future
But I'm like rolling thunder
Even on a cloudy day (repeat seven times)
I'll keep my eyes fixed on the-
I'll keep my eyes fixed on the-
I'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun

Shake me down
Not a lot of people left around, Ooooh
Ooooh

I am surprised that I am the only one with the messgae of love. The sun is his love. He has tested his limits and still after losing friends, family, everything, they are the only thing that remains. Everyone is searching for something, yet no matter how crazy life gets, no matter the trials he goes through his "sun" is always there. When he says I tried to make a move he is talking about temptation and that he is unpredictable yet even on the hardest and cloudiest of days he still has the "sun". Absolutely beautiful song, yet wonderful.

This song is about how many loved ones the man has lost. The message is to stay optimistic, even in the roughest of times. I relate to this song so much because I had such a miserable life in 7th grade when I was 13. It appeared to me that like this song, loved ones were being turned away from me. For example, I was very emotional and depressed last year (when I was in 7th grade) because sometimes my mom would get drunk and my sisters didn't really care by walking away when trying to cheer me up. I stayed optimistic even when being betrayed by family and friends. As I look back at it all now, 13 was a transforming age for me.

This song is about a man who has just died and revisits his life. But to the listener it is a warning sign saying no matter how many hardships and depressing moments one has they can overcome it just by staying optimistic. Good times are most enjoyed in the worst times, like if say johnny is depressed for whatever reason and he wins a contest then johnny will feel infinatly more happy.
