Bullet For My Valentine – The Last Fight lyrics

I wanna stand beside you
I'm gonna try and feel the pain you're going through
Till the death you'll see this through
Cold sweats, hallucinations
I wanna scream to show the hell I'm going through
The addiction's taking you

Can you see me through bloodshot eyes (bloodshot eyes)
Should I fight for what is right or let it die
Now I'm choking on force fed lies
Do I fight or let it die

Chorus:
I will fight, one more fight
Don't break down in front of me
I will fight, will you fight
I am not the enemy
I will try one last time
Are you listening to me
I will fight, the last fight
I am not your enemy

Everyone is sick of caring
No silver lining on the cloud that covers you
Let it pour and soak you through
No hope just desperation
So sit and wait for death
And pray it takes you soon
The addiction's taking you

Can you see me through bloodshot eyes (bloodshot eyes)
Should I fight for what is right or let it die
Now I'm choking on force fed lies
Do I fight or let it die

Chorus:
I will fight, one more fight
Don't break down in front of me
I will fight, will you fight
I am not the enemy
I will try, one last time
Are you listening to me
I will fight, the last fight
I am not your enemy

Can you feel me through bloodshot eyes
Should I fight another night or let it die
Now I'm choking on every lie
Should I fight or let it die

Chorus:
I will fight, one more fight
Don't break down in front of me
I will fight, will you fight
I am not the enemy
I will try one last time
Are you listening to me
I will fight, the last fight
I am not your enemy

I am not your, not your enemy!

I agree with Mastafarian. It sounds like he's trying to save someone from their addiction, possibly themselves (?). A lot of times when someone is so deep in their self-destruction they see the ones around them telling them to stop as evildoers who want them to stop feeling good, which they think only comes with being high, cutting, whatever. I think Matt is basically grabbing a friend by his shirt collar, telling him to stand up and "don't break down in front of me" and telling him that he's not going to give up even if his friend tells him otherwise.
Pretty good song, reminds me of some things my friends have said to me in the past.

It is about the time that barney and the gang got herpes, while battling the gonorrhea gnomes. The tragic tale starts with scooby doo trying to obtain crack from the gnomes, but little did he know that the gnomes tricked him into buying sugar. Scooby was outraged and summoned barney and friends to help get revenge. It was a battle that lasted many a days, with casualties on both sides. The warfare ceased for a day when dora the explorer wanted to have a meeting with the gnomes leader, papa smurf. However, the meeting took a turn for the worse when scooby started detoxing, which caused a battle rather than a compromise, and also the death of boots the monkey. Shaggy tried to comfort dora and the detoxing mutt (scooby), but his life was taken by the savage killer, bilbo baggins. As a side note, gonorrhea gnomes don't have gonorrhea, they have herpes. This was the last battle of the war (hence the name the last fight), as everyone besides barney, tina and derek were killed. Surviving with the horrible disease herpes, and leaving them the last people on the planet. It is up to them to repopulate. You know they, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and herpes doesn't kill you, which is why they survived.

To me, this song is about a couple where one is under the influence of drugs, and the other is trying to help him/her. But they don't want the help, and say theres nothing wrong with them, when the other can see it perfectly clear that s/he needs the help. But the significant trying to help is debating whether or not to help them, or just wait for the worse to come around. But he's not her enemy. And wants to help her, but ends up covering for her. What's important to him is that she's happy and healthy but he can't help her because she won't let him.

I think this song is about never, ever giving up. Even when we're down, even when we're struggling, we can't give in. Stand up, and take the last chance. Save yourself, save those around you, and if you're going through hell, keep going, because it shall only serve to make you stronger. Never let faith die.
(also, I was listening to the song carefully while typing this, and I'm positive it's "i want to speed to stop the hell i'm going through", instead of "scream to show... ")
