Barney is a dinosaur from our imagination
And when he's tall
He's what we call a dinosaur sensation

Barney's friends are big and small
They come from lots of places
After school they meet to play
And sing with happy faces
Barney shows us lots of things
Like how to play pretend
ABC's, and 123's
And how to be a friend
Barney comes to play with us
Whenever we may need him
Barney can be your friend too
If you just make-believe him!

This is the theme song thast plays at the inroduction of barney- the childrens tv programme. The lyrics talk about what barney the dinosaur teaches the children viewing the programme and it also getas the adults interested so that they allow their children to watch it. It also talks about being a friend to everyone and how barney can be a friend. Finally, the song mentions that barney's friends are big and small and come from lots of places encouraging children to make friend with everyone no matter their race, size or religious background and that barney is not only a fictional, inspirational, senatrional charactar but he can teach us a lot.

Wow...look at all you little trolls hating on a show meant for LITTLE KIDS and you guys can't just hate, you need to use homophobic racial slurs to get your point across? This world disgusts me, I'm really sad that I have to call myself an American.

This song/show is about imagination, friendship and family but I'm sure none of you actually had to sit down and watch this show day after day. The purpose of a huge purple dinosaur is so kids, especially young ones, will watch and pay attention vs if it was just a bunch of people doing the same thing. The child I watch refuses to watch the show until Barney is brought to life and she can pull away, not even two yet, the lessons he gives.

So maybe you should look at it at an educational point of view before you open your trap or maybe not say anything at all if you're just going to look ignorant by using terms like 'fag' over and over and just assuming they're a Jew because guess what -- a real Jew comes on and sees that and gets hurt.

You all should step back and heck yourselves.

This song defines my childhood really well. I remember watching this show when it was on PBS Kids for the first time! I think that God shall bless a 15-year-old teenager's juvenile heart. And I am the 15-year-old teenage girl who still remembers this like it was her TV times. Also, the goodbye song was the best too besides this opening theme song. I remember being a huge fan of Barney when he came up to the TV screen and I thought that he was an amazing and inspirational character. Also God shall bless the creators who made the Barney show! I, when I was 13 years old, also loved playing that video game on my computer named "Barney's Hide and Seek" which was so awesome. I have a Let's Play series of it and I only have two regular episodes of it and one half episode. Maybe I'll make the next regular episode sometime, okay? Yet this is a jamming song to listen to when you're in a giddy and juvenile mood.
