Asking Alexandria – Someone, Somewhere lyrics

Even though I'm on my own,
I know I'm not alone,
Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home,
So here's one from the heart,
My life right from the start
I need a home sweet home to call my own

It was you that told me I could do this,
You put the music in my heart,
And how you sang with the band in Memphis,
It's hard just to be strong,
Not knowing if I've done you proud,
I like to imagine you smile when you hear my songs

Even though I'm on my own,
I know I'm not alone,
Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home
So here's one from my heart,
My life right from the start,
I need a home sweet home to call my own

A letter home and I know we don't speak much
And we both know I'm not keen to but I think there's things I've left unsaid
I'm okay don't worry
I wish I'd been a better kid
I'm trying to slow down
I'm sorry for letting you down

Even though I'm on my own,
I know I'm not alone,
Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home
So here's one from my heart,
My life right from the start,
I need a home sweet home to call my own

You know it's just rock and roll,
I know you're by my side through it all,
My terror twin and I,
Let's take over the world

Even though I'm on my own,
I know I'm not alone,
Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home,
So here's one from my heart,
My life right from the start,
I need a home sweet home to call my own

Even though I'm on my own,
I know I'm not alone,
Because I know there's someone, somewhere praying that I make it home,
So here's one from my heart,
My life right from the start,
I need a home sweet home to call my own

the song is Danny making an apology to his parents and asking for forgiveness cuz he wasnt the greatest kid. Also the acustic for was put into their newest album because Danny really wanted to put in something more Rock and Roll and he doesn't really like the screaming and syth stuff that they usually do. Thats also why he left Asking but since he messed up his vocals I think it was good for the band. The loss of Danny defenetly made me sad but I think now Asking Alexandria will be better and go back to a fusion of their older two albums. Im also hopeing to see more vocals out of their lead guitarist Ben Bruce.

For me personally, it means alot, because, I am a musician myself, and put most of my life towards being a musician, but recently, I joined the military, and left home, gave up all my dreams of music and my passions, to make my family happy, because I know that as a kid growing up, I did alot of things that really bothered my parents, and they hated when I would go play my music, cause it's not a style that they wanted to hear.

I personally believe that this song is an apology for not being who people expect you to be. Perhaps about ending up doing something not too good in life, like becoming addicted to drugs or alcohol. Its sort of an apology for getting into something like that. That is sort of the more depressing side to the song, while the more optimistic is when danny says "i know there's someone, somewhere, praying that i make it home. " showing that no matter how much bad things you've done, there's always going to be someone who will stand by your side.

I always thought this song was about the boys missing girlfriends, friends and family after the music took over their lives, even after all those people told them they could do it, but they don't know if the people they care about are proud of what they're doing, just because friends, family and girlfriends told them they could. It's about having someone, somewhere that they think of when everything gets to much. They send letters home, and they say they need a 'home sweet home', a place they can call their own.
With everyone, there is a someone, somewhere, some people just haven't met them yet.
