Check check check
Shake shake shake
I'm going down my friend
Down on the ground again
What do you think my friend
This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end
Sometimes I love you so
You say the sweetest things
At times I can't let go
There's no more diamond rings

You caught me down my friend
Down on myself again
What do you think my friend
This could be the end
This could be the end
This could be the end
And words leak out of me
It's just a poets thing
My angel smiles on me
But she's just broke her wing

This song is about 'what It's like to be a poet' hence a poets thing. It tells the tale of being down, and how you write better when your depressed. It's the same as football, you always have a more powerful accurate shot if you have a gripe with the world. The same as comedy too. There is a lovely change in this song to the anti-verse, which takes the song up, when talking about poets.
