I saw you. Angels came to light your path.
I heard you keep their wings pressed under glass.
Now am I so enthralled that I might die?
I saw you, sweetly smile, and say "do try".
(Anything)
I'd tear out my eyes for you, my dear
(Anything)
To see everything that you do.
I saw you so bereft so pale and weak
When I looked through
You and I declined to speak.
I won't say [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/afi/torch_song.html ]
(Anything)
I'd tear out my eyes for you, my dear
(Anything)
To see everything that you do. I'd do
(Anything)
I'll tear out my soul for you, my dear. oh my dear
(Anything)
To feel everything as you do. I do
Anything
Anything... oh
Leave me
Leave me to grieve that nothing's lost. nothing's lost
Leave me
But when you leave me, know nothing's lost. nothing's lost
(Anything)
I'd tear out my eyes for you, my dear
(Anything)
To see everything that you do. I'd do
(Anything)
I'll tear out my soul for you, my dear. oh my dear
(Anything)
To feel everything as you do. I do

I completely disagree. This song is about someone that he has such low regard for, someone who's treated him so unkindly, that he considers them soulless (i'd tear out my soul [... ] to feel everything as you do) someone that he was once so in love with that he would have died for them, but their response was something as callous and cruel as, "do try. " this song is about the kind of person who responds to a declaration of love with a request for the declarer to, literally, go die.
That he would tear out his eyes to see everything this person could mean that they do nothing, they they're trapped in thebmonotonous routine of a life that means nothing.
These two contrasting lines lead the reader to believe that thespeeaker is reflecting upon his feelings for this person, thinking about how unkind they were to him, mocking his own misplaced affection in this being that completely destroyed him.

Hes talking about a woman(or more likely a man) who broke up with him. And he cant get over her, he's burning a torch for him or her, torch song.

Well, i think they are talking about some supernatural being (vampires? ) and how he wants to see everything they do and he would do anything to feel and see what they feel and see because he is so enthralled... Who knows. =]

I think he's comparing the girl to an angel that means everything to him. He trying to get across that he'd do anything for her, even if she left him.
