Hey Miss Murder can I
Hey Miss Murder can I
Make beauty stay if I
Take my life? Whoa oh oh

With just a look
They shook
And heavens bowed before him
Simply a look
Can break
Your heart.

The stars that pierce the sky
He left them all behind
We're left to wonder why
He left us all... Behind

Hey Miss Murder can I
Hey Miss Murder can I
Make beauty stay if I
Take my life? (Whoa oh oh)

Dreams of his crash
Won't pass
Oh how they all adored him
Beauty will last
When spiraled
Down.

The stars that mystify
He left them all behind
And how his children cried
He left us all... Behind

Hey Miss Murder can I
Hey Miss Murder can I
Make beauty stay if I
Take my life? Whoa oh oh

What's the hook, the twist within this verbose mystery?
I would gladly bet my life upon it
That the ghost you love, your ray of light will fizzle out
Without hope, hope. We're the empty set just floating through wrapped, in skin,
Ever searching for what we were promised
Reaching for that golden ring we'd never let go...
Who would ever let us put our filthy hands upon it?

Hey Miss Murder can I
Hey Miss Murder can I
Make beauty stay if I
Take my life? (Whoa oh oh)

Hey Miss Murder can I
Hey Miss Murder can I
Make beauty stay if I
Take my life? (Whoa oh)

I tought the meaning was that there was a beautiful woman (miss murder) and he left all his people for her. She kept her beauty with all the men she tooks deaths. It really wasn't at his will either, because miss murder was too hard to resist falling in love with so he was willing to do whatever she wanted, even give her his life. The bunnies though i'm taking a wild guess that that's the sign of 'Miss Murder is coming now'. And she's not even human, she's some ghost or immortal.

I really like DarkMark19's point and interpretation...it does make a lot of sense...hmmm

Either way, I see it as a man who had high hopes and dreams, yet his life was ended abruptly. He left behing everything, and nobody really knows why he died, or how. Yet, there is this thought that maybe his wife is to blame. This man was very influential and died in a time of people needing him.

I really like the Jesus reference, but I can't seem to fit the Miss Murder part with it...hmmm...

I like the thought that maybe this was about Jesus...

...but for some reason I've always had a sneaking suspicion that this was about Kurt Cobain, with perhaps "Miss Murder" somehow being a reference to Courtney Love.

I doubt that, seeing as the second verse is about someone's crash. It'd be more closely related to Mickey Mouse than to an overpowering sense of duty toward love.

This song is actually about Satan, or the "Angel of Light". He is the one that the bible describe as being one of the angels that was so beautiful that angels bowed before him; yet so vain, and wanting to take the throne from God, he was thrown down to Earth. Hence the part talking about the "crash". The "children" left behind are actually the angels that lament his fate.
