3 Doors Down Away From The Sun lyrics

It's down to this
I've got to make this life make sense
Can anyone tell what I've done
I missed life
I missed the colours of the world
Can anyone tell where I am

'Cause now again I've found myself
So far down, away from the sun
That shines into the darkest place
I'm so far down, away from the sun again
Away from the sun again

I'm over this
I'm tired of living in the dark
Can anyone see me down here
The feeling's gone
There's nothing left to lift me up
Back into the world I've known
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/0-9/3_doors_down/away_from_the_sun.html ]
'Cause now again I've found myself
So far down, away from the sun
That shines into the darkest place
I'm so far down, away from the sun
That shines the life away from me
To find my way back into the arms
That care about the ones like me
I'm so far down, away from the sun again

It's down to this
I've got to make this life make sense
And now I can't tell what I've done

And now again I've found myself
So far down, away from the sun
That shines the life away from me

'Cause now again I've found myself
So far down, away from the sun
That shines into the darkest place
I'm so far down, away from the sun
That shines the life away from me
To find my way back into the arms
That care about the ones like me
I'm so far down, away from the sun again

The meaning of this song is about a man that have just realized his mistakes and he wants to bring back the life that he had yesterday. He wants to start a new life, he wants to bring back what he has before, he wants to right his wrongs no matter what is takes he never surrendered even no one will ever lift him up. Thanks for reading.

This song to me is about a relationship that was stretched out until there was nothing left inside. Away from the sun, away from the truth and beauty behind life which is only true love and peace. This song touched me through a break-up and it's hard not to relate when i'm feeling so low. Great song! Love 3 doors down.

Beautiful song! Like most great song it can have multiple meanings to the listener. I think the overriding theme is clearly someone in depressive state (many ways) looking to regain happiness & peace. "away from the sun" or "light" means away from truth and living in the darkness of self delusion, self deception and depression. I related so much to this song to my early days of sobriety and what a challenge it was (and is) to move towards truth ( light or sun)and away from self.

This song, in my opinion, is about, i thought anyways, about a soldier who is trying to find meaning in the life that he has chosen. Being over in iraq certainly does not show a vast selection of colors, or prosperity. He is crying out for help. To make some sort of sense in the reason why he has been left out, away from the world he has known.
