30 Seconds To Mars – From Yesterday lyrics
He's a stranger to some
And a vision to none
He can never get enough,
Get enough of the one

For a fortune he'd quit
But it's hard to admit
How it ends and begins
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)

From yesterday, it's coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message here

On a mountain he sits, not of gold but of shit
Through the blood he can learn,
See the life that he turns
From a council of one
He'll decide when he's done with the innocent

Oh his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
Oh his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)

From yesterday, it's coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message
He doesn't want to read the message
He doesn't want to read the message here!

On his face is a map of the world

From yesterday, it's coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message here
From yesterday,
From yesterday,
From yesterday, the fear
From yesterday,
From yesterday,
But he doesn't want to read the message
He doesn't want to read the message here
He doesn't want to read the message here!

I'm doubting it's about God, or there are parts of it that definitely aren't about him. "On a mountain he sits, not of gold but of sin." If it's talking about Jesus taking our sins, maybe that line works. God has nothing to do with sin otherwise. "He'll decide when he's done with the innocent." There are no innocent, just Jesus. If this is about God, I guess it could work. Because Jesus, the innocent, was killed for our mountain of sin.
Ok, maybe it does work! It still looks a little cryptic if it's about God, though.

In my opinion this is a sang about a veteran soilder who has changed due to him many battlers in the past and trys to get over his past but it keeps catching back up with him. "through the blood he can learn, see the lives that he turned". And the map of the world is his past battles he has fought all around the world. But knowing it is scaring his body and even his life, he can't get enough of it because it make him feel like he is making a difference. "he can never get enough get enough of the one". And I think the "message" might be the fact that he needs to stop for his own sake. But he doesn't want to because he feels that is all he has left.

Well I think the line hes a stranger to some and a vision to none he is the person whos unnoticed and noone knows or bothers to find out who he is and I think the line on his face is a map of the world has something to do with it and its not about god hes unnoticed by every one I'm not sure I was just thinking coz it reminds me of me people think of me as the childish irresponsible one because of past actions but no matter how much I change I'm still treated like I'm that person.

Personally, I think that this song is about. No one else but god, as you can see in more then several lines of the song: "hes a stranger to some and a vision to none" hes a stranger to atheists, that doesn't believe in god, and a vision to no human.
You can also find hints in the row "on his face is a map of the world", I think it means that god is universal and watches over each part of the world, and every person.
And the final hints are in the chorus: "From yesterday, it's coming! From yesterday, the fear! From yesterday, it calls him But he doesn't want to read the message here". The word "He" reffers to god, because, there are many people that suffers horros, and no matter how much they call god, he never answers them. "he doesnt want to read the message here"
