He's a stranger to some
And a vision to none
He can never get enough,
Get enough of the one

For a fortune he'd quit
But it's hard to admit
How it ends and begins
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)

From yesterday, it's coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message here

On a mountain he sits, not of gold but of shit
Through the blood he can learn,
See the life that he turns
From a council of one
He'll decide when he's done with the innocent

Oh his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
Oh his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)

From yesterday, it's coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message
He doesn't want to read the message
He doesn't want to read the message here!

On his face is a map of the world

From yesterday, it's coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message here
From yesterday,
From yesterday,
From yesterday, the fear
From yesterday,
From yesterday,
But he doesn't want to read the message
He doesn't want to read the message here
He doesn't want to read the message here!

I think it's about like, what you've done in the past, affects your future.
Like when they say "from yesterday the fear"
I think they're talking about how he doesn't want to face the fact that he can stop whats going on. Like if my friend told me their dad was abousing them, I could call the police and stop it. So taking resonsibility for your actions and relizing that God has a perpous for you, and that you have to live up to it.
idk, thats just what it means to me.

I think that this song is basically about how there is just too much pressure and there's so many things going on with this person.
Like when he says "on his face is a map of the world" basically sounds like there's just a lot of pressure. Then when he says "from yesterday its coming" well tells me that well maybe he's trying to forget everything and he can't forget it keeps coming back everything and trying to forget is putting on pressure.

i'm doubting it's about God, or there are parts of it that definitely aren't about him. "On a mountain he sits, not of gold but of sin." If it's talking about Jesus taking our sins, maybe that line works...God has nothing to do with sin otherwise. "He'll decide when he's done with the innocent." There are no innocent, just Jesus. If this IS about God, I guess it could work...because Jesus, the innocent, was killed for our mountain of sin.
Ok, maybe it does work! It still looks a little cryptic if it's about God, though.

Jared Leto is, as far as I know, an Atheist. So why would he write a song about god or Jesus?

    Overall, I agree with LunaJadeTree
