[Verse 1]
Lie awake in bed at night
And think about your life
Do you want to be different? (Different...)
Try to let go of the truth
The battles of your youth
Cause this is just a game
[Chorus]
It's a beautiful lie
It's a perfect denial
Such a beautiful lie to believe in
So beautiful, beautiful lie makes me
[Verse 2]
It's time to forget about the past
To wash away what happened last (happened last...)
Hide behind an empty face
Don't ask too much, just say
'Cause this is just a game
[Chorus]
It's a beautiful lie
It's a perfect denial
Such a beautiful lie to believe in
So beautiful, beautiful lie makes me
Lie....Beautiful
[Bridge]
Everyone's looking at me
I'm running around in circles (Baby)
A quiet desperation's building higher
I've got to remember this is just a game
[Chorus]
It's a beautiful lie ---
It's a perfect denial ---(So beautiful, beautiful)
Such a beautiful lie to believe in ---
So beautiful, beautiful lie makes me
I think it's that something horrible happened to her and she doesn't want to believe it. She wants to believe everything is perfect, like when a rape victim goes into denial.
Again, this is a complicated explaination. What I do with songs, is I take them for how.. I'm feeling. I mean, if it's about one thing, I make it about something else. I search for meanings. And in this one, I find that your life is just .. turning into a bigger lie, every minute.
if you've ever seen this video, its OBVIOUS what the song is about...its about global warming.
its a really good song too, i love 30 seconds to mars :]
I interpret the song along the lines
"Lie awake in bed at night
And think about your life
Do you want to be different?
Try to let go of the truth
The battles of your youth
'Cause this is just a game"
It about surronding ones self with some sort of facade or 'lie', and is about your manageing to convince you and those around you that the life you are living is 'perfect' and 'beautiful'. When really you are in complete denial about the fact that you are truly unhappy.
