I interpret the song along the lines

It about surronding ones self with some sort of facade or 'lie', and is about your manageing to convince you and those around you that the life you are living is 'perfect' and 'beautiful'. When really you are in complete denial about the fact that you are truly unhappy.

A beautiful lie to me i think is about the earth and the lies that people think the world is perfect and well its not wars global warming and stuff like that is destryoing the earth! and what i think we need 2 do is stop pollution going into the earth and give peace a chance!!!
cuz if anyone notices the ice bergs are melting fast and most of it now is water and if u look at the very end of the video it says some ice bergs melted after the video so what i think is that their sending a messege to everyone that we need 2 be nice 2 earth and not treat it like crap!
