30 Seconds To Mars – 100 Suns lyrics

I believe in nothing
Not the end and not the start
I believe in nothing
Not the earth and not the stars
I believe in nothing
Not the day and not the dark
I believe in nothing
But the beating of our hearts

I believe in nothing
100 suns until we part
I believe in nothing
Not in Satan, not in God
I believe in nothing
Not in peace and not in war
I believe in nothing
But the truth in who we are

I completely disagree with people who have a religious take on this song. It's a beautiful song and it isn't denying anything. The song is about not believing in blacks (e. G. War and sin) or whites (e. G. Peace and starts) but I think it's about the grey area that everyone has within us. 'the truth in who we are' - he's saying he doesn't believe in this and that, because everybody has a bit of everything and there is no right and wrong - there is just human nature - 'the beating of our hearts\'.

I am the result of 1 sperm out of 100 000 to reach 1 egg, and I am 1 person out of 7 000 and I am only 1 our of 30 000 species on 1 planet out of 8 in 1 solar system out of 100 000 galaxies in 1 of 100 000 in the universo, which for all we know could be 1 out of 100 000 universes.
I don't care how I got here, or why we are here, all I know is I am alive, and I will be dam sure to live life to the fullest.
If there is a god, I know he dam well respect me for this, if not hes not a very nice guy.

Wow. I am not sure how everyone else feels, but I don't feel qualified to capture "myself" as truth. For that matter any human. I am picturing the most perfect person and that person is no where near perfection. No human is. We all fall short of truth. Their lyrics suggest putting "self" before all including god.
If the lyrics say they don't believe in god. Make no mistake about it. That person doesn't believe in god. You don't have to listen to their work to understand what message they are stating. (note: I have listened to all their music).
As a christian, I won't support songs with these lyrics.
