I can really, totally relate to this song.

The song for me is very meaningful. It's like the singer is telling us that we don't own Nature and that we don't have the right to claim what's not ours. I like the line "how high will the Sycamore grow if you cut it down? Then you'll never know". It's pretty obvious and quite funny too. I like to sing the song over and over becuse for me, the melody itself is very beautiful. I also love the other songs from Pocahontas.

When I was younger I always asked my Mom to sing it for me. It's because before, when I was only 4-6, I always dreamed of becoming a mermaid. I really love the water. My favorite movie was The Little Mermaid. Now that I'm twelve I can sing it for myself but still ask my Mom to sing it for me! I really love it! It's about a mermaid who wishes to be a human but of course, that's impossible.
(In real life that is.)
