"No regrets, Coyote". But really? This song travels through an alternate space and time, with a lilting musical backdrop. Rumored to be inspired by a brief relationship with Sam Sutherland, the song speaks of the predator and his prey, the lonliness of solo travel, the need to feel desired, which grows into the need for connection. A prisoner of the white lines. Forced to move forward, trapped by the obligation, longing for the white lines to take her to something meaningufl. Obviously, there's no chance for a real connection with a coyote. He's onto his next prey.

What a scathing commentary! A comparison of modern society with the primative. And the primative comes up as more civilized! Drugs, s**, all the things that polluted the creative drive (still do) are called out here for the savage idea killers they truly are. Hedonism leads to complacency, not creativity. Joan did a fantastic job of creating very interesting, ahead of its time music to wrap around a shocking, poetic editorial.
