Its about domestic violence, a father abusing his children because he doesn't know any other way to raise them. "A broken home just as you were raised" shows how domestic violence is a never ending circle, it just goes around. And it also metions fighting against abuse as well.
I love this song, it's very cool that Trivium writes songs about things that truly matter and are of an issue to society at the moment!
