I'm just a kid who's four
In reference to the episodic nature of the show, this lyric focuses on how he is growing in age every day.

The first person usage of 'I' also sheds some light on the selfish nature of Caillou as an individual, as he makes the entire song about himself.

Interestingly, he also states that he 'grow(s) some more', which shows a personal feeling of accomplishment. One way this can be taken is that Caillou is inadvertently telling audience a little life lesson about how they should continuously appreciate and grow themselves. However, an alternate view is that Caillou is a vain individual who believes he is making progress every single day without break, which can be taken as a naive and egotistical view.

The usage of the word 'grow' is also interesting in the context of 'Caillou', as the connotations of 'grow' are as follows:
- Physical
- Mental
- Emotional
- Spiritual
All four are categories where one may 'grow' in. However, Caillou's lyrics that show that he 'grow(s)' 'each day' contradicts the series, as he does not grow at all throughout the series and remains a brat that constantly harasses everyone.
