Don't know what the song writers intended. But it certainly does it for my beloved wife and me. Her open-heart surgery was a huge shock. We packed her bag the night before. I sat with her for hour upon hour in intensive care after. She could hear me but it took her ages to come back. Back together now. But every note, every word and every inflexion of this version is so incredibly powerful for us.
