There is more to this song than just a breakup or someone leaving the band. The opening words tell us that (eg "we both down together"). They imply that after this happens, they're both in trouble. Furthermore, the title suggests that the person being talked about will be in more trouble, when people find out what happened. I'm thinking dude is dating a girl, cheats on his girl with her best friend. He wants to stop it (he's let go), she wants it to continue (she never lets go) or she's telling her friend what happened. If that happens, they both go down together; he's out a gf, but she's out the fling and the best friend. --- Then again, it could be about the band. Jason could have written it, w/o the band really knowing what it was about - that would be genius. They sing it, take credit for writing it, then let's the world know how big a part he played in the band. Really, they should ask for him to come back, there songs aren't as good w/o him.
