Mortesmonamant, I think you're wrong. I think Gaga is saying that what she wants out of her "romance" is something whole, and something unadulterated, not something she knows is going to hurt her. Yeah, she knows love is always going to be imperfect, but she doesn't want it solely for the parts that hurt, she wants it all. This song, minus the s**, is really what love is completely about: the good and the bad, and the fact that you can't have one without the other in a true romance.
