Meaning
"Dark" seems to be the theme of this song. I think that the dark means harsh times of struggle. Picture yourself in a forest in the pitch black dark of night. There is one small light, always moving and going somewhere, and wherever it shines is the only place you can see, with nowhere else to go, you follow the light. The light that has been guiding you just extinguished, and now it's dark all around, you need that light to go anywhere, otherwise you're stuck in the dark, can't see to go on. As I said, the dark means harsh times, and the only hope for him is that one person being spoken to in the song, they are the light. When that person stops guiding and helping him, there is no hope for him. Now they are gone, there is only darkness (harsh times of strife) nothing more, and no matter what direction he goes, it's still dark all the same.

Explanation
"
Blinded I can't do this on my own
You are all I've got to guide me home
One last expression to the person that he needs his/hers help to get through his problem. There is no way things can get better for him without their help, he has nobody else to turn to.

Explanation
"
You led my way, then disappeared
How could you just walk away and leave me here?
Light
As previously mentioned, the person was helping him through these harsh times, but then stops and abandons him, be it intentionally or not.

Explanation
"
You're the cause, the antidote
The sinking ship that I could not let go
"You're the cause" suggests that this person being referred to is the reason for his suffering. "the antidote" suggesting that the person is also a way of fixing things. "The sinking ship that I could not let go" appeals to me as something or someone potentially bad that he can't abandon.

Explanation
"
In the dead of night you went dark on me
From later lines, I think that the person being spoken to was helping him with his struggles but no long. "In the dead of night" meaning the worst and hardest times, "you went dark on me" meaning his only light (which is this person) has now gone dark and isn't helping him anymore.

Explanation
"
I could lie awake just to watch you breathe
For me, this is quite a hard line to make meaning of. I believe that there is a deeper meaning to this line than the denotation, it's just unclear to me. Through speculation, I think it means that it satisfies him to see the person living a normal life, much different to the struggles he's going through. I still think about this sometimes and it is still very much up for debate.

Explanation
"
But I found in you what was lost in me
He is saying that this person still possesses a positive emotion he used to have before things went down hill. It could remind him of his old and happier self before his life got worse. Something in his life took away this positive emotion, but the person being spoken to still has it.

Explanation
"
Light the night up, you're my dark star
And now you're falling away
He is asking the person be his "light" in these dark times, but now they are "falling away" suggesting they too are becoming affected by dark times.

Explanation
"
I call your name as I walk alone
Send a signal to guide me home
He is asking someone for help, but he's not receiving it. I believe he needs help from this person in order to be happy again.

Explanation
"
There's no hate, there's no love
Only dark skies that hang above
"There's not hate, there's no love" Meaning no significant feelings to and from most people anymore, like people just don't care about each other. "Only dark skies that hang above" Current lack of love and compassion is leaving the world gloomy and dull, not how today's civilization was meant to be.
