I'd really like to hear what other people think this song, because I can't decide what it is exactly that he's talking about. Its a really good song and I cannot stop listening to it, I just can't figure out what exactly he's talking about. Is he talking about maybe his child? Or to his child? Or maybe to his woman? Or somebody that used to be his woman.? I just can't decide. Input please!

I know this probably means something else to other people, but because of the circumstances that I'm in. Here's what this song means to me: "What if i wanted to break, laugh it all off in your face" to me, that means: What if I finally got sick of your crap and decided to end this whole thing. And "Look in my eyes, your killing me" means look at me! Look at what you're doing to me! Don't you care?

My youth group has been performing this skit for a long time now. Our interperative dance group goes to many different churches around our county in Oklahoma to perform it. I love doing it, too. Its very powerful. Although, it does take a lot of strength out of you. You know, getting beat up and everything. I love how it sets out all the huge difficulties and temptations in our life. No matter how far away from Jesus we are, he's always there trying to wave us back to him, trying to pull us away from the temptations of life. We are so blessed to have the gift that Jesus has given us: the gift of choice, and free will. Even when we don't deserve to be loved he's always waiting with open arms.

I know exactly where she's coming from when she sings this. I know how it feels when it feels like nobody understands, especially not guys, not men, not boys. They think you'll shrivel up and die if you have to go without them for a day. No, we wont die. We just wont live. Sometimes it feels like they just don't understand that you want to be held and called beautiful and loved and looked and smiled upon. I'm not steriotyping anybody because sometimes boys arent like that. Sometimes, boys really do understand. They're just really hard to stumble across. I hope that they realize that not all girls are s***s, that we will be faithfull, and that no matter how bad they hurt us, its always the hardest to stop loving somebody that you've fallen completely head over heels for.

I agree with axe322. It reminds me a lot of what would be sung to you upon entering the gates of heaven. Coldplay may have different reasons for writing it though. You know how songs can be. They mean one thing to one person and a completely different thing to somebody else. I looked up Chris Martin's religion on wikipedia and it said he didn't know much about God and that he was open to different ideas. So I don't know if he's talking about God in this song or not. That's just what it means to me.
