For me, this song speaks about a troubled man who went through so many terrible things in life, including a very important person's death. Because of all the pain he went through, he thought God never existed. He ended up giving up on life. When he died and his soul was in the corner of heaven and hell, he found God, smoking cigarette and telling him he could ask anything (which for me, was just a figurative representation of how much he wanted to tell God everything he wanted to tell Him like asking Him why He had let him go through so much pain on Earth).
