This is one of my favorite songs of theirs. To me, the song is saying how society in the world shapes and molds people from a young age into something that they want. You can't really know if the things that you think are actually your free thoughts or if they're just thoughts reflected upon what you see in the world. By living here on earth, you're brainwashed the moment you're born so you never really have time to think or over-analyze the things that we humans do. Life sometimes seems as if it's just a long process of functioning, what is to be believed, correctly.

For the past two weeks, I've been obsessed with this song. To me it means that this girl has found someone that she truly loves and is willing to do anything for him even if that means making decisions based on what her lover wants. The name "video games" summarizes the whole song. The person that she is in love with controls her in such a way that it's like he's playing a video game. By putting on his favorite sun dress or perfume on, she's trying to appeal more to him. And "i heard that you like the bad girls, honey is that true? " is her way of asking so that she can appeal even more.

This song is truly beautiful. Almost everyone can relate to this since it differs from most of Taylor's songs about boys and relationship. It's about what growing up does to you. As you get older, you get sucked into doing things that you would have never thought of doing when you were younger. A longing for the past where you used to run into your parents' bed after a nightmare or when you had that singing recital and it seemed as if everyone believed in you that you could do it. All of these precious childhood memories fade from our minds as we start evolving into adults. What Taylor says in this song is how it's never too late to feel innocent like you did when you were a kid. You just have find your way on to the right path again and change whatever kept you from believing that you aren't innocent anymore.

I agree with roguernot that I really don't think the song is about Twilight. The song does fit the storyline of it, but I think it's just a general song about fighting attractions to something that you shouldn't want. For example, I think of maybe a popular girl, who cares about her reputation, growing a crush on geeky nerd, or maybe a married person showing interest in someone other than their spouse. Also, roguernot's belief on how it's about temptations of Satan is so very perceptive and I never thought of it like that when I listened, until it was mentioned :)

This is one of my favorite songs. It's about how a guy who drinks a lot gets into his car without thinking of what might happen when he wakes fully sober the next day. When people tell him he's not doing the right thing, he just shrugs it off and continues to do his own thing. Then in the 2nd verse of the song, someone is telling him that he doesn't know a thing of what's to come later on, that he'll regret everything later on when he's lying in bed in the middle of the night, full of guilt.

I love this song and it means so much to me at this point in my life since I'm about to start my first year of high school. The lyrics means that when you're 15 and you're starting to date boys and get into the drama of high school, you have to realize that none of that stuff will matter once you go out into the world and begin college or your career. You will do greater things in life once you start to grow up. Just don't get too caught up in those high school boys or whatever it is that distracts you from achieving your important goals.

I love this song so much! I believe that it means how a son went off to war to fight, but the mother didn't want him to go because she didn't want him to kill other people since she believed you will go to hell for doing so. The son disobeys and leaves and then comes back, finding that his mother despises his actions of participating in the violence of war. This angers the son since he nearly died out there and all she could think of is how he will go to hell. Therefore the "Mama, we all go to hell" is him saying that to her out of anger.

I love this song! It means how this girl is so far from reality and lives in her own bubble where nothing bad happens. But later in the end, everything comes crashing down on her and she wakes up to find how hard and tough you gotta be to be able to live in this world. So instead of living in castles, you have to live in houses built by brick by boring brick or else someone sooner or later is going to stomp all over you.
