O star of wonder, star of night
Some thought to crack the code: star was seen by Wise men who are waiting for his star. I guess it must have been seen by everyone who were waiting for the Messiah. But Herod and the elite of Jerusalem had no clue about it. They were worried on the arrival of news. Also the star lead them from Jerusalem to Bethlehem till they reached home. No real star can come down on top of a house without burning the whole place. In fact the whole earth. So this is a supernatural Act of God. His glory that was shown to people who are willing to see it! That's the best possibility I came up to so far. Honestly how did the World miss its King I have no clue!
