This first section gives us a clue that it might be about a somewhat young "boy" and a soldier in the military right before the boy has to fight in a war for the first time. The soldier is giving him advice and telling the boy that at least he will get to see the world and the beauty of all of the countries when he is fighting- it makes it seem less scary. Then he tells the boy not to look the enemies in the eyes when he kills them, he just has to do it and get it over with. Then the soldier takes him for a drive in one of the military jeeps so he can have some fun before he has to fight and risk his life.
