This is entirely different from any previous kry song they've released (they have drums in the background! ♥) and to be honest could have been suitable for the entire group; there were a few other numbers on their new album that sounded more like a kry song than this. But regardless, they sang it flawlessly, and it's absolutely heartwrenching, especially the subdued adlibs and the medley of their voices in the chorus. ;;

The fact that he talks of himself as a child as well as his father is very intriguing, as it shows a sliver of his childhood, and the whole thing seems as if he's tired of living so wildly and being a part of so many stories, breaking so many hearts. I love the, 'are you gonna take your shot, it's the only one that you've got, ' as if to see if anyone's up to the task of bringing him back down to earth and back home, because he doesn't know where to go himself either, only that he needs to get away.

I love the reference to the pills and how badly he wants to be vindictive, 'scream 'til no sound comes out and you learned your lesson, ' 'run only far enough to make you miss me. ' whoever this 'you' is, he's having trouble not dwelling on them, and in order to see the full picture of what he was doing he had to take that step away to get a fresh view point. The bitterness toward people in general he feels when he's going through this cathartic process is also striking, as he's 'sick of everybody else. ' it's almost like a tragic hero - he's done things he wants to apologize for, he's always too late, and here's where the image of him as a broken man truly settles in.

I love this song, his voice is so stunning. The line, 'life's a b*h and so are you, ' makes me laugh and I love the person described overall, because it's not the traditional love story. The talk about being able to relate to all the sad songs strikes me in particular because there are so many people who are full of themselves that way, or only know how to appreciate something because they think they relate to it. The song is soft and beautiful but the words are brutal, which I find amazing. 'Who do you think you are to cry? ' is really cutting and vindictive, which I absolutely adore. ♥.
