In the case of this lyric, jeans also means "genes", which are basically the blueprints of a living thing. A geneticist is a scientist who studies genes. The second part of this line follows the stereotype of gay people having excellent fashion choice. So a gay geneticist would love designer, or high-end/expensive, jeans.
