About an abusive relationship. There`s no hiding whom when every wound brings the darkest place to light sounds like physical abuse because the contusions and scars oftentimes are on display and everyone knows they are usually inflicted by the psygoth (emotional significant other). The abuser sounds somewhat self-pitying by thinking everyone must believe s(he's) the devil's spawn as a result, but s(he) feels so bad about the abuse (crying eyes)and wants to ease partner's burden of blaming self for the abuse as the abused often do with the reassurances that there was nothing abused could have done to prevent the violence (rather die than see you do time for all the wrongs (of abuser) you couldn't make right) because it wasn't anything abused did that caused it, and abuser is amazed psygoth endured the abuse for so long without becoming numb. I sure hope 'amazed you're still breathing' doesn't mean wasn't killed because abuser couldn't control self during irrational rage. Having been in an abusive relationship I can say oftentimes abused realizes it's an illness causing psygoth's rage and we stay because we feel we are abandoning them if we go. I left when I knew the next attack would result in my or inadvertently my 2-year old daughter's death as the violence gradually escalated, among the various aggressions he would pick me up by the neck and fling me across the room and the last time I landed in the playpen barely missing her, which would have broken her neck. So we left and within 2 months he killed himself 'so far gone found my way back to broken.. when you moved on I can't find my way out Chris Daughtry is my favorite singer (such depth of emotion) I sure hope this song is not autobiographical, but if so I hope it's metaphorical and not physical cuz even tho I know verbal abuse can be so much more painful than the physical but a man striking a woman is so much lower to me and that man does not deserve any respect without gruelly earning it back.
