I think this song is about Final Fantasy 7. Matt is a fan of the ff series, and the song fits with the game. "sent to destroy all of the good on this Earth," Sephiroth and Jenova both tried to destroy the planet. "The mother of ruination comes to fuck all" = Jenova. " The calamity makes its way to the inside" = the Lifestream. "Meteor crash down, come crater our woe out" = Sephiroth calling the meteor to crash in the crater where Jenova first landed.
