This song works so well because Clint Eastwood is now an older man, and he is reflecting on his life. Whether it be the part he plays in the movie, or his own life, it's a perfect song. The fact that he sings the first minute of this song, really brings it home. I feel that the part sung my Jamie Cullum could be the younger man, who is perhaps, learning some lessons from Clint Eastwood (the part he plays.) I also feel that this could easily be a "stand alone" song even if you've never seen the movie, it's a darned powerful, reflective song. Robin.
