So interesting to see how everyone has a different interpretation of this song. To me, I think they are referring to this current political government obama system. "They have all the right (democrat) friends in all the right places. so yeah,we're going down!" America is painted as the perfect place, "We've got it good but they've (politicians) got it made". Democrats with their own agenda and lack of common sense is taking us down! " Are we just sinking in an ocean of faces " because they aren't listening to the American people. Hence the Tea Party. Obama is Fake and I could never be a fake like you. America is waking up and "Everybody knows,everybody knows where we're going, yeah we're going down" moral, finacial, international ruins! "I know things are looking up but they'll take us down before anybody's knowing our names". Think about it. That's what's going on right now with this obama nation. Ps. I rarely see obama bumper stickers anymore. People realize he's a liar and a hypocrit and this song is made just for him and his puppets. But the rightwingers will come in and fix it their mess.
