The meaning in this story is that she decides to cheat on her present bf while having another relationship with the other guy that gave her the note. She is singing about him knowing that she is cheating on him and she doesn't want to hurt him but because she knows that she's hurting him emotionally and mentally so basically you can say she's a murderer but she doesn't want to. This song reflects a lot in life because in life, you have to sometimes make difficult choices between two things that you love a lot.
