Although Singapore is only a small nation, a "Little Red Dot", we believe that no effort is wasted in making sure that Singapore is safe, secure and an ideal home for all Singaporeans. We will be united in the face of danger, and we will defend our country whole-heartedly without any hesitation. We will be responsible and willing to defend our nation, our home, our Singapore.

This sentence means that in Singapore, we are a multi-racial society and we value fairness for all four races. As our National Pledge states, "We, the citizens of Singapore, pledge ourselves as one united people, regardless of race, language or religion, to build a democratic society based on justice and equality, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation". In Singapore, we believe that everyone has his or her place, and all can contribute towards a brighter, better Singapore.
