The crowd is taken aback, however, when they see this stranger light one of his farts, or "backdoor winds", and enough fire to turn the night to day comes pouring out of his sacred rectum. (It's Edguy. Don't take it too seriously.) This is somehow enough to get the crowd praying to him, and repenting to him: they "turned their glances off his face".
