He trying to tell us that suicide isn't an option, no matter how tempting it seems. So many people are in the same boat as you are, they also turned their hands to guns and traded in their thumbs for ammunition. He tells you about his suicidal feelings, how he was seriously considering killing himself. He realised that suicide wasn't the solution, and he sees all the other people at the same risk he was. He urges them to consider getting help.
