Those who say this song is about James Bond have never been able to tell me who he's replacing, and what merciless eyes he's deceived.
I still think this song is about a secret agent type, one who's suave with the ladies and associated with law enforcement - but aside from that, he and James Bond have nothing whatsoever in common. For instance, this guy's strongest claim to being an action hero is that he once sat in a helicopter while the other passengers were conducting a chase scene. And if you know the fellow I'm talking about, a three-puppet salute to you!
