The sun usually means happiness and no troubles. He's still having his troubles and he's still not happy. He's still trying to get out of the situations that he's in. He's still in the dark with the girl. They aren't completely happy yet, they're still learning to let each other in and still trying to work out their issues and problems. He's finds her as a source of happiness but he's still facing his troubles. She helps him a lot with advice she gives him.

He's scared of getting hurt again. He's starting to open himself up more and more, but slowly and cautiously. He's scared that letting the girl in completely could hurt him again and that she will just be another unforgiven person. The door represents them slowly getting closer and closer by the talks they have and how she treats him. He's also starting to like her more and more and is starting to truly believe that she won't be like the other people.

Yet again they're sharing their problems and issues. He's asking her to be there for him through his dark and troubling times. They share what goes on in their life on a day to day basis and try and talk to each other about it. They share their lives hoping to help each other out of depression and other issues they may have. They both have troubled souls and they are constantly tormented by other people and have people doing terrible things to them to hurt them.

If the girl can understand what he is, what he's gone through, excepts who he is, and what he likes, then he can understand her too. They can relate and talk to each other about their problems. He can except her and everything she is if she doesn't torment him or hurt him like other people have done in the past. If she proves herself to be trustworthy and open minded then he can let her in and do the same for her.

The door represents himself, his heart, who he is. He's telling her if she's real with him, loves him, cares for him, gives him a reason to trust her, and won't harm or betray him, that he will let her into his heart and world. He will open himself up to her; or open the "door". Later on it talks about a key. We can infer that the key is the one that opens the door or himself. We aren't talking about a literal door or key. When you lock your door you don't want anyone to come in, you're keeping things out, keeping yourself in and isolated.

The guy starts having feelings for the girl and he's hoping she feels the same way. He believes that she can make all his problems and troubles go away. He realizes how alike they are and how much they can truly help each other. She makes him feel comforted and safe and truly happy. He feels like he has someone to trust and tell all his worries and troubles to that won't judge or label him. He starts thinking about how much the girl means to him and what him and her could be.

The guy meets the girl and finds comfort in her. They grow close and begin telling their troubles to each other. By asking the girl to lay beside him he's telling her he's there to listen and comfort her. People have repeatedly hurt and betrayed both of them to the point to where they have trust issues. He's asking her to let him in and tell him what people have done to her so he can relate to and help her so they can get through it together.
