The Creepshow – The Garden lyrics
There's a dark fading light
In the garden where you
Lay your head tonight
Through the darkened hours
Were you thinking of me?
A state of sleep
Is what you'd rather be

There's a pale
Purple moonlight
In the garden where you
Lay your head to die
Frozen dreams and nightmares
Have you forgetting a dream
Of what you always thought
You could have been...

Hey don't draw the line
Did you know that you're right
So baby blue don't cry
Don't you go now...
Don't you go now...

There's a stale morning light
In the garden where you lay
All through the night
Through this poisoned nightmare
Have you set yourself free?
With thoughts and dreams
Of what you're gonna be...

Hey don't draw the line
Did you know that you're right
So baby blue don't cry
Don't you go now...
Don't you go now...

Hey don't draw the line
Did you know it'll be all right
So baby blue don't cry
Don't you go now...
Don't you go now...

Hey don't draw the line
Did you know it'll be all right
My baby blues don't cry
Don't you go now...
Don't you go now...
Hey don't draw the line
Did you know that you're right
So baby blue don't cry
Don't you go now...
Don't you go now...

I think this song is trying to tell a story, about someone dying or killing themselves and their lover trying to talk them out of it. They write "Through the darkened hours, were you thinking of me? [either death or a lover] A state of sleep [death] is what you'd rather be". Later on, they write "There's a pale, purple moonlight in the garden where you lay your head to die"

A little later, they change the chorus from "Don't you know that you're right?" to "Don't you know it'll be alright?" which kinda reflects that the narrator is attempting to convince the protagonist that life will go on.
