Sleeping With Sirens – Four Corners And Two Sides lyrics
You! You!

Tell me how, how has it taken so long for me to open up my eyes?
I see through you now, I won't fall for things you said before.
How, how has it taken so long for me to finally realize?
I'm on my team, I won't run away back t-to believe.

[Pre-Chorus:]
And when they all turn against you, you better be prepared to fight.

[Chorus:]
They say I'm a sinner, but nobody knows;
You only do what you're told,
Uou better hope that you're right!
They say I'm a sinner, I'm not the only one.
You want to point your finger,
You better make a choice tonight!
'Cause I'll stand up for what is right.

How, how has
such a better person become the man I am?
I turning my heart out, just give me the time.
Tell me how, how am I to change when I'm still trying to figure out how (how to save my life) to be saved?
(Save me, so save me).

[Pre-Chorus:]
And when they all turn against you, try not to look the other way.

[Chorus:]
They say I'm a sinner, but nobody knows;
You only do what you're told,
You better hope that you're right!
They say I'm a sinner, I'm not the only one.
You want to point your finger,
You better make a choice tonight!
'Cause I'll stand up for what is right.

No, you better choose your side, make your choice tonight.
You, you better draw the line right now between wrong and right.
I am a sinner, I'll never be a martyr.
You stand up for what's right.

[Chorus:]
They say I'm a sinner, but nobody knows;
You only do what you're told,
You better hope that you're right.
They say I'm a sinner, I'm not the only one.
You want to point your finger,
You better make a choice tonight.
'Cause I'll stand up for what is right.

[Outro:]
All my life I've been the person I am,
Who are you to try and judge?

I've taken this to be a stab at anyone who is overly-judgmental, be it religiously or morally or otherwise. The song asks repeatedly: you say that I'm a sinner? Well, we all are. Nobody really knows what it's all about, and all you're doing is repeating what somebody else has told you. As for me, I'm making my own choices in life, choosing what is right and what is wrong. And you should do the same.

I honestly am not shure about the meaning of this song. But to me it meant that everyone does what the think is right, even if it's something horrible that seems like a "sin" to the people outside. At some point you thought it was the right thing to do and everyone does it. "YOU WANT TO POINT YOU'RE FINGER, YOU BETTER MAKE A CHOICE TONIGHT" I think that part mean that if ur going to judge what somkeone did than ur mind better be set to what you truly believe. Who know's mabey later on in life you might end up doing what that person did you thought was so horrible.

This song simply put is awesome. And to lessen it, it is about peer pressure and parental pressure.

The song places the fact that at every step we are monitored and judged and all throughout we try and be what we are supposed to be or told to be, and kill our crazy individuality. "How has it taken up so long for me to open up my eyes", the omitter finally realises that what he has been doing is what the others want him to do. Conditional behaviour.

"You better do what you're told, you better hope that you're right"
That means that even after you have tried everything to make them happy, somehow or the other you are always somehow incorrect or faulty.

Every screamo song can be understood extremely easy by listening to the variations in the lyrics between the sung part and the screamed part. It can also be deduced that the person screaming has given up on life after being criticized all round his life. And that is the reason he is saying over and over to "STAND UP FOR WHAT'S RIGHT".

"They say I'm a sinner, I'm not the only one"
The politically incorrect always pull one way or the other to criticize you. Metal is devilish. Diabolic. Maybe that part is for all those who try to discourage metal by calling it diabolic.

    "I am a sinner, I'll never be a martyr"
That means that when the guy gave up on his life, he is once again called a sinner and not a martyr cause he was oppressed towards suicide which is practically a form of murder.

And the final screamed lyrics are the best.

"ALL MY LIFE I'VE BEEN THE PERSON I AM,
WHO ARE YOU TO TRY AND JUDGE?"
That is the final piece, like a cherry atop the cake. It means that if I live my life the way I want to, if I grow my hair fucking long or grow a lengthy beard or wear distressed jeans I am being true. I am being honest. Not to the others but to myself. And if I am being true to me, you have got no right to judge me or accuse me.

I think it means that when you make a mistake and everyone shuts you out don't give up on who you are just make things right for yourself to kind of prove yourself better. Never give up, just keep trying because we learn best from our mistakes. And once the person "pointing the finger" makes the sin/mistake, they are going to be embarrassed and have to live with the fact they were being a jerk.
