Opeth is a progressive death metal band from Sweden. There is wide divergence regarding which sub-genre of metal they actually play, considering that Opeth adds several lighter elements to their music, such as acoustic guitar interludes, influences from jazz, 1970s progressive rock, blues and folk. Vocalist Mikael Akerfeldt performs both clean singing and death vocals. All of these facts added result in a unique blend of musical styles.
