To me it is about something much more than what you just see. It is actually quite simple when you look close enough. This song is obviously about ice cream. If you have never noticed, all songs are in fact about ice cream. When they say "god" they are actually talking about their favorite flavor. They fear the flame because it will melt their ice cream. The rest of the connections are easily made.

It’s about human trafficking and sex slavery. Repeatedly he’s talking about being raped and no one being there to help. He’s succumbed to the abuse and given up. To him the chair. He’s embittered so much he misunderstand the Cross of Christ and blasphemes by saying he will pay for his own ransom by his suffering. Christ was perfect, but he (it so he is writing and singing about) is deeply wounded. Maybe it’s about the priests in the Catholic Church that rape children all the time
