Linkin Park – Roads Untraveled lyrics
(Shinoda:)
Weep not for roads untraveled
Weep not for paths left alone
Cause beyond every bend is a long blinding end
It's the worst kind of pain I've known

(Shinoda + Bennington)
Give up your heart left broken.
And let that mistake pass on
Cause the love that you lost wasn't worth what it cost
And in time you'll be glad it's gone.

(Whoa) x 4
[Music break]
(Whoa) x2

(Bennington:)
Weep not for roads untraveled
Weep not for sights unseen
May your love never end and if you need a friend,
There's a seat here alongside me
.

(Whoa) x4 [till the end]

Lp said the album would not be about politics, religion, or war first of all. This is about love definately. Also, I swear to god, this song got me over my ex the first time I heard it. This song did what seven months didn't lol.
As for the meaning, I think this song is about someone who lost a loved one, either broke up or they died but the former is unlikely,.
This song is a man singing that love is hard but when you lose in it you need to get back up and keep going no matter what. And if it really hurts that bad and that long then it wasn't worth it to begin with if it hurt you that much. Also its like a friend singing it to you because of the ending line "may your love never end, and if you need a friend, there's a seat here along side me"

Linkin park stated this album was way more personal than other albums, hence the name living things. This song isn't political at all, it's about losing a relationship and not thinking about the roads you didn't take, hence the song title. This is all very simple, but with that said, this song is absolutely amazing, and I love the simplicity but very strong message it sends at the same time. And in pieces, leave out all the rest, valentine's day were all 'love' songs, not political. Oh, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there aren't any political songs on living things, it's all personal.
