Jarvis Cocker – Tonite lyrics

It all starts tonight, tonight's the night I guess
So let's go take some drugs and let's go have some sex
The first time it's alright
The future starts tonight

And you cannot make everything alright
But you could stop being wrong

And someone's getting born and someone's getting killed
Somebody falls in love, somebody falls from a window sill
But you, you just sit tight
Hiding out from life

Oh and you cannot set the world to right
But you could stop being wrong
Oh, tonight
Yeah, tonight

Oh well, the past devours the future, the world is changing shape
And someone's getting a piercing done for goodness sake
Tonight, tonight, tonight
Yeah, tonight

Oh and all the culture vultures and all the snot nosed kids
And all the so called artists, wannabes and never did's
You claim you're not involved, but you're in up to your neck
The night belongs to lovers, so show some respect

Oh and you cannot set the world to rights
But you could stop being wrong
Oh, tonight
Oh, tonight

Oh, tonight
Oh, tonight
Oh, tonight

No time like the present, tonite all of life is happening whether you are ready or not. Some one falls in love and someone falls from a window sill, someone's even getting a kiss in darfur. Incidentally jarvis cocker fell out of a window when he was young. Ask yourself, are you sitting tight hiding out from life afraid of the world? You can't change the world but, you stop being wrong, starting tonite. The night belongs to lovers, if your not with your lover then show some respect to those who are maybe question why you are with. Tonite :)
