I just heard this song for the first time last week. My husband and I had a plan he would go and get out new home in AZ organized and I would stay here in Ct to wrap up what needed to be done. He passed away 13 months before our plan was set. Postmarked tombstone was killer. It wasn't all lies... our dream didn't come true. There is no greater love

This woman has been promised so much from this man, and never seen or felt what the truth really was. She has painted this picture in her mind about what their life could be instead of what it was. She imagines that he will fulfill all her dreams that she's been waiting for, and that he's promised to keep to her. He never keeps his promise, and makes her wait and steadily wait. Finally, she comes to the realization, that he's been lying to her constantly with no regret, no remorse.

I think it means there is no paradise I'm guessing? Maybe a man from her past promised her a fresh start/life and it happened to be somewhere far away from the cold winter aka Arizona, I think it's more than just an expression it's telling the truth through a metaphor or maybe he was just so f**ked up and things went south aka (Florida, Alabama) and she wanted to start a new life in Arizona but can't now because that paradise doesn't exist. Just a quick thought haha I was listening to this song and it reminded me of good times in California me and my dad.
