Flyleaf – There For You lyrics

Sometimes I'm selfish fake
You're always a true friend
And I don't deserve you
'Cause I'm not there for you
Please forgive me again

I wanna be there for you
Someone you can come to
Runs deeper than my bones
I wanna be there for you
I wanna be there for you

Swirling shades of blue
Slow dancing in your eyes
Sun kisses the earth
And I hush my urge to cry, cry

I wanna be there for you
Someone you can come to
Runs deeper than my bones
I wanna be there for you
I wanna be there for you

'Cause I hear the whispered words
In your masterpiece beautiful
You speak the unspeakable
I love you, too

I wanna be there for you
Someone you can come to

I wanna be there for you
And be someone you can come to
The love runs deeper than my bones
And I, I wanna be there for you

It's about me fighting for what I believe in and being strong for myself and I love and trying to expected and respected by people 'cause it's so damn hard for me to trust people. And when you need talk to a friend nobody has any time for you. So I took up listening to music and playing some of my games I put on here.

I think its about Jesus. But when I apply it to my life it makes me think of my first love. I feel it didn't work out because I didn't have the capability at the time to do what needed to be done in order to make our relationship work. He did his part and got burnt out. It's not my fault, I couldn't help but to be what my parents raised me to be. It's unfair. But I've learned now what my parents didn't teach me about love. I've healed enough that I would love to do it over. Except that's impossible now.
